Hey Amber X’ers!
We’ve recently received some feedback regarding the speed of photo indexing on Amber X. Some users have noted very slow speeds. We want to help clarify that the speed of our onboard performance for indexing depends on the load of the system, which can be affected by upload/download activities as well as the sheer number of newly added photos to Amber X.
For example, when first-time users upload years of accumulated photos all at once it can cause Amber X to get very busy (for example, if you have 10k photos it will probably take about 3 hours to complete the photo indexing, not including AI indexing). Indexing 100k photos should finish in 1-2 days. 100k photos indexing + AI may take a week in the worst-case scenario. If you have other concurrent heavy upload and access activity it could be even slower.
We understand that users are very eager to see the indexing results when they first connect their photos to Amber X and we are working non-stop to continue to optimize its performance.
