Apps running in the background usually enter a so-called sleep/suspend state after a period of time. At this time, the newly taken photos will not be backed up to Amber X. Therefore, we also recommend that you can reopen the Amber iX mobile device application once there is a new photo file to start the backup. After opening, you can also let the application go to the background to continue the backup.
Important note: Please confirm Settings> Back & Upload> Background Service> Background Service and enable this function. At the same time, if you have a lot of photos or videos to be backed up, please make sure that the relevant settings and the power of your mobile device are sufficient.
Is this feature on your product roadmap? I can’t imagine your users are opening the Amber iX app on a daily basis just to kick off the backup process.
If I’m on vacation, I’d most likely forget to open the app to initiate the backup process… and kinda defeats the purpose of an auto backup…0
We have the feature added to allow users to choose to run in the background with the choice of duration. This setting is located at Settings > Background Service > Run in the background. If this feature is not released already, it should be available in near future.0
